Here's the first episode of Great Creators, a series of documentaries highlighting the characters of Tractorgrease. It's such a treat to share an artistic journey with the folks that form the Tractorgrease community. I'm constantly inspired and impressed by the Great Creators around me, and I feel their story must be told.
This episode was filmed on a trip to PEI with my good friend Jay Gavin. After playing a show at the Tractorgrease Cafe with the Airstreams years ago, our
friendship started. Lots of laughs and many beers later, we found out that both of us moved from PEI to BC 30 years ago and lived in rival towns of Summerside and Tignish. After many tours together in Songwriters Unite!!!, it felt like a trip out to PEI would be a good idea. We hung out in Jay's hometown of Tignish for a week and played an amazing show at the Stompin' Tom Centre in Skinners Pond.
I'll let the video tell the story!!! ha
Sharing the stage with Jay has been such a great experience. I am blown away by his songwriting craft that makes me want to cover all of his songs, haha. The new record "Road Ready," recorded by Grammy-nominated producer Denny Knight (Waylon Jennings, Conway Twitty) of the Nashville Music Group, is a collection of witty, heartwarming sing-alongs available on streaming platforms, but the blue vinyl record sounds the best!
